Songs
My name is Gary Bryan and I’ve been writing little songs since I was in elementary school. Although I played rhythm guitar in a band when I was a kid, I’m definitely not a musician. I only learn to play an instrument enough to get through a song. I’m not a singer either, although I pretend to be.
The videos below use a few songs that I’ve written and recorded over many decades; from the 1960’s to present. Dozens of others have been lost to my roller coaster lifestyle. Most of the music is home recorded. A couple of them were recorded in studios.
Some of the songs are performed by others and one or two are covers that I recorded for the hell-of-it. Dave Stevens wrote “We Were Myrchants of Tyme” for the band’s reunion and recording session. The Myrchants were a moderately successful garage band in Miami, Florida in the late 1960’s. The Band members included Kenny Pederson (Drums), Dave Stevens (Lead Guitar), Don (DJ) Smith (Bass Guitar)), and myself on rhythm guitar.
Since I’ve never made any money from song writing, and at 74 years old, it’s not likely that I will, I’m sometimes asked why I continue to do it. It’s because, this is what I do.
