Stephen Stills Would Prefer Touring If He Could Use Drugs

Stephen Stills has stated that the concept of going on tour in the modern world “appalls” him, despite the fact that he still enjoys weekly jam sessions with Neil Young.

They are going to take part in the Light Up the Blues festival that will take place in April of this year. Stills told Rolling Stone that the band was demonstrating that the proverb “rust never sleeps,” which referred to Young’s album released in 1979 with the same name, was true.

The jam sessions are conducted in a manner that is notably low key. “The studio is where we pass the time. We perform tunes from the past. Stills explained that the band performs the music of other artists. “The two of us simply take turns playing together. We look through Buffalo Springfield’s past catalog in order to rediscover old tunes, which we subsequently play on the natch. After that, we play the albums and think, “Oh my Goodness, how could we have possibly missed that?” Yet we do it every week. Shakey and I have had a wonderful relationship ever since we first met.

Stills also enjoys getting together with other pals, such as Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Mike Mills, and Kenny Aronoff, to participate in sporadic jam sessions. He claimed that it was the best pickup band in the entire globe. “We have all of these amazing musicians fly in, and together we put on a spectacle. Both Light Up the Blues and I will benefit from the practice, and it will be therapeutic for me.

Only on rare occasions does he compose brand new music. Stills further by saying that at his current age, everything must be taken “one day at a time” and “one song at a time.” “Because there is a lot to sing about in the world right now, I’m working on writing some new songs. They are expelled at the appropriate time. When I have four or five of them, I’m going to seriously consider recording them. It is not work at all. It is holding its breath.

You shouldn’t, however, anticipate seeing the 78-year-old announce concert dates in different parts of the world. “The whole thought of going on tour makes me sick to my stomach. It’s impossible for me to picture me riding the bus for that long. You are no longer permitted to use drugs. It’s lost all of its appeal.” He continued with a joke by saying, “I have been going through a quick aging process.” I open my eyes and think to myself, “Holy Toledo, I’m old.” I actually just do things that elderly men do.”
