One Hit Wonder

I’ve always dreamed I’d be a big rock star,
Rockin’ out and cuttin’ up with the band,
No doubt that I’d get there, with a string of gold records,
Sold out concerts and millions of fans,

But as time goes by, I’ve been thinkin’,
One Hit Wonder My lofty goals should be cut down to size,
Those celebrity dreams, are headed downstream,
So I came up with a compromise,

**** I wanna be a One Hit Wonder,
A little taste of fortune and fame,
I’m in bit of a hurry, ’cause I’m getting worried,
Nobody will remember my name,

I wanna be a One Hit Wonder,
To get some notoriety,
After one little hit, I’ll pack up and quit,
**** And fade into obscurity,

I’m running out of time to make it big,
But I’ll settle for what I can get,
So I’ll keep on playing, anticipating,
Somebody will discover me yet,

I thought about jammin’ at the local bar,
Maybe I should play on the street,
Just a bit of promotion, To get out the notion,
One Hit is all that I need,

So I uploaded my songs on YouTube,
Put them all in videos too,
Since they were pretty cool songs, I thought it wouldn’t take long,
To get more than a million views,

Sadly nobody even noticed me,
No comments, clicks or reviews,
Then finally one day, Somebody clicked and hit play,
So it looks like my dreams have come true,
